Vinnitsa is a city about 3 hours train ride from Kyiv, slightly west of central Ukraine. We are a young base with a specific focus on looking after kids from institutionalized care, and many other justice and evangelism based projects as well.
Youth With A Mission Vinnitsa
Wings and Roots
Being part of a young base is a lot of fun because everything we do is pioneering. New projects, new connections, new relationships, new courses…it’s all fresh and it can be whatever shape God wants. Our base is constantly releasing staff to try new things in obedience to Jesus, to build his kingdom in creative and powerful ways.
Our pioneering is only possible because of our roots – the experience of our founders and leadership team. Many of us have been working in Ukraine for decades before moving to Vinnitsa to start the base here, and many of us are Ukrainian or from Slavic nations. So we are rooted in the culture and our leaders have the spiritual authority to work here. We care deeply about this nation, and about this city, and that is why we work here to Know God and Make Him Known.
More about us
Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Vinnitsa wants that everyone in Vinnitsa would know God’s love and truth. We intentionally work with people on the margins of Ukrainian society, such as orphans and people struggling to beat addictions. Our focus as a base is on being voice to the voiceless, family for the lonely and rescue for those in trouble.
Some of us used to be base staff at Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in Kyiv, where our base was pioneered from five years ago.
We are growing pretty fast as a base with new staff joining pretty often. Our base families are growing too, through fostering and adopting young people from orphanages that we work with.
We’re a smallish base and because we’re still in the pioneering stages we have a lot of fun because we have freedom to dream big and start new things.
We’re from Ukraine, Russia, Moldova, America, Australia, Holland and the UK. We’re former builders, tattoo artists, copywriters, youth workers, soldiers, students, social workers, mechanics and our leadership team are seasoned YWAMers as well.
We work with our extended YWAM Community too, including bases in Kyiv, Lutsk and Ternopil.
YWAM Global
Youth With A Mission (YWAM) (pronounced why-wham) is the world’s largest organisation of full time volunteers. We ‘live by faith’, in that we are supported by friends, family and often strangers, so that we can focus our all day every day lives advancing the Kingdom of Jesus.
YWAM just celebrated it’s 50 year anniversary and is known for grass roots mission, amazing training schools and for knowing God and making Him known.
YWAM is decentralized and spreads much like yeast through bread, equipping young people to be radical followers of Christ in whatever their sphere of society.
