Thousands of babies, children and teenagers live in orphanages in Ukraine. Abandoned by parents, or taken from their families by the state, these precious human beings live their whole lives in institutions. They desperately need help – practical support and advocacy, friendship and examples of healthy relationship.
Every week we visit three different orphanages. We do crafts with the younger ones, as well as teaching, playing games and spending time with the children.
We do cooking lessons, football, volleyball, photography club, ethics courses, board games and film nights with the teenagers. Our main purpose in all of this is to build friendships, and to let the young people know that they are important and loved by Jesus. We also aim to model safe behavior, teach family values and help anybody who needs it.
